Both in One

David Stanley Aponte, Both in One, lithograph on rives BFK paper, 2005

Both in One (Sub- #2222)

To bare the scars of love no more
Before the picturesque moon
To run in the night with a brisk flight
Across the sandy dunes
To taste the salt from the lips
of the great nomadic sea
To face the suns as they become one
with ones ecstasy

To feel this day break with a new birth
To see both shadows upon the earth
Which is complete to bring a new day
So that they together will die
And from the moon it births a new death
more glorious than before
So that both stars can yet come again
To be born once more

When night comes once more
